This workshop helps participants develop a stronger understanding of effective governance practices.  It highlights the importance of having structures in place that contribute to a positive leadership experience, management of conflicts of interest and sound financial oversight.

Learning outcomes:  

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

•       Understand the principles of good governance and how they apply in not-for-profit and community group settings.

•     Gain practical knowledge about the roles and legal responsibilities of those in governance positions, the importance of strategic planning and financial oversight, and how to identify and manage organisational risks.

•       Manage conflicts of interest to build transparency, accountability, and trust.
