Join us for a fun and educational day celebrating the natural environment of Blind Bight.
Reptile Encounters will have a static display featuring 6 curated habitats, including the Tiger Snake which is local to the area.
There will be 2 snake safety and local wildlife shows. The presentation will cover:
• How to identify local snake species.
• Understanding snake behaviour.
• Clear, practical snake safety guidance for families.
• What to do — and what not to do — if you encounter a snake.
• The ecological importance of snakes in wetland and coastal ecosystems.
Beyond snakes, Reptile Encounters will also highlight other native species that call the area home.
Roving performer The Connies will keep the kids entertained, with illustrated fact cards on local birds, local and regional frogs, native fish, aquatic invertebrates, woodland and wetland birds, butterflies, reptiles, mammals and marsupials.
There will be a mangroves walk and talk and the ever-popular face painting. You will be able to learn more about composting and bin contamination, and there will also be an opportunity to meet members of your local SES.
Food and drinks will be available to purchase.
Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a hat, water bottle and insect repellent with you.
This is a free event. No bookings are required - just turn up and enjoy a day of nature!
