Exciting improvement works to start at Doveton Pool in the Park

Doveton

The City of Casey is excited to announce that stage one construction works at Doveton Pool in the Park will be commencing soon, marking the beginning of an exciting revitalisation of this much-loved facility.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen was joined at the pool with Federal Member for Bruce, Julian Hill MP, and said stage one construction will officially begin from June.

“Locals may start to see some of our contractors on the site in late May. This is the start of a really exciting project – to see our pool given a well-deserved upgrade,” Cr Koomen said.

“This first stage includes replacement of the existing 50m pool, with a new accessibility entry ramp and a reduced depth to enable more accessible swimming programming. There will also be an upgrade and extension of the pool plant room and equipment.

“Council has contributed $7.91 million for stage one works, and we have also received $7.4 million from the Federal Government for stages two and three.

“As a long-time Doveton resident, I can’t wait to see our cherished pool get the upgrade it really deserves. I can’t wait to see this project fully completed, and for our local community to be able to enjoy a fantastic recreation facility in the heart of Doveton."

These works are part of the Doveton Pool in the Park Master Plan to deliver an outdoor pool facility and year-round accessible park.
