The health and wellbeing of our community is a priority. The Budget 2025/26 invests your rates in a range of initiatives, essential services, facilities and open spaces that support a healthier and more connected community.
We’re helping to ensure that no child misses out on the care they need by making it easier to access vital health support. Our Maternal and Child Health services now offer Saturday sessions every fortnight, specifically for children who have missed their scheduled 2-year-old or 3.5-year-old health checks.
Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said, “We know life gets busy, so we’ve introduced Saturday sessions to ensure families have the chance to catch up on these important appointments.”
We’re also creating new spaces for connection and learning. From early 2026, a pop-up Library Lounge will open inside the Clyde Township Community Centre. This space will have a big impact bringing books, story-time and exciting programs to Casey’s new communities.
In Tooradin, we’re investing $3.5 million into the future of sport and recreation with an improved netball, football and cricket pavilion and new community room. In response to strong community feedback, we’re also fast-tracking a $400,000 upgrade to the much-loved Tooradin skate park.
Cr Koomen added, “Across the city, we’re rolling out our largest-ever playground renewal program, with 21 playgrounds being upgraded based on community input. Whether it’s Betula Reserve in Doveton or Straithard Reserve in Narre Warren South, these refreshed spaces will help families play, explore and make new connections.”
From active environments to community inclusion, your rates are working to make Casey a place that is connected, innovative and resilient.
