Have your say on the Reimagining Eumemmerring Creek Project

Creek

Community consultation is now open for Melbourne Water’s Reimagining Eumemmerring Creek Project.

As part of project, approximately 2 kilometres  of an underground piped and concreted section of Eumemmerring Creek — located between Doveton Avenue and Lace Street — will be transformed into a natural, open waterway.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said this fantastic project will not only bring water back to the surface, but it will enhance biodiversity, improve public open space, and create new recreation opportunities in the Doveton area.

“As a local resident of Doveton, I am excited to see Eumemmerring Creek transformed into a beautiful waterway,” Cr Koomen said.

“This is a project for the people of Doveton, and we want to hear your voices. Now is the time for you to have your say and help shape the features and character of this natural space.

“Your ideas will help bring this vision to life, and I encourage the Doveton community to come along to one of the upcoming community sessions. If you can’t make a session, you can have your say via Melbourne Water’s Let’s Talk page, where you can also apply to join the Community Representative Workshop.”

Your opportunity to provide feedback closes on Sunday 14 September 2025. Visit letstalk.melbournewater.com.au/eumemmerring

Melbourne Water’s Reimagining Eumemmerring Creek is jointly funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust under the Urban Rivers and Catchments Program and Melbourne Water. The City of Casey will contribute to the project by delivering paths, seating, and platforms, with design for a shared path along the creek already underway.
