The City of Casey is planning a series of upgrades to Somerville Road Village (The Fairway) in Hampton Park to create a more welcoming, attractive and enjoyable space for the local community.
A proposed concept design has been developed, featuring new seating, higher‑quality landscaping, footpath artwork and additional trees. These improvements aim to enhance comfort, encourage greater use of the centre, and support a safer, more vibrant environment for residents, visitors and local businesses.
Council is now inviting community members — particularly residents and traders who regularly use the area — to help shape the final design, which is expected to be completed in April.
Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said “I encourage everyone who knows and loves this area to share their feedback so we can create a design that truly reflects the needs of our community.”
River Gum Ward Councillor Lynette Pereira said “Our community deserves local centres that feel welcoming and safe and vibrant. These upgrades are about strengthening Somerville Road Village as a place where people want to meet, shop and spend time.”
Residents and traders will also have an opportunity to provide feedback in-person at a community pop-up session on Thursday 5 March from 1:00pm – 2:30pm at the Somerville Road Activity Centre, 80 Somerville Road, Hampton Park.
Consultation is now open and will close on Tuesday 10 March. For more information and to have your say, visit https://conversations.casey.vic.gov.au/somerville-activity
