Under the Environment Protection Act 2017, councils in which onsite wastewater management systems, more commonly known as septic systems, are in use are required to develop an onsite (domestic) wastewater management plan.
The City of Casey’s Domestic Wastewater Management Plan 2021-2026 describes the circumstances surrounding the management of onsite wastewater in the City of Casey and outlines the strategies Council intends implementing to improve the management of onsite wastewater systems (systems that discharge less than 5000 litres per day) in the municipality as well as minimising the risks to public and environmental health associated with onsite wastewater.
