The City of Casey provides a free graffiti removal service and aims to remove graffiti from private property, local businesses, sporting facilities, parks and playgrounds, Council facilities and buildings, and Council signs within three business days. Graffiti deemed offensive is prioritised for removal within one day.
The graffiti removal program started in 2002. Since then, we have removed thousands of square meters across Casey. On average, the City of Casey removes 35,000 square meters per year of graffiti within our community, and to put this into perspective, this is equivalent to annually painting the MCG (from fence to fence) 1.75 times.
The City of Casey has a zero-tolerance approach to graffiti. Our Graffiti Management Plan takes a holistic approach to cover every stage in the graffiti lifecycle. The Plan has six relevant principles: eradication, engagement, education, engineering, enforcement and evaluation.
How to report graffiti
Good photos can help us remove the graffiti sooner, as we can prepare for the job in advance.
What does a good close-up photo show?
- The material the graffiti is on e.g. brick, glass, timber etc.
- The type of graffiti e.g. paint, scratches, stickers
What does a good distance photo show?
- Where the graffiti is in relation to other objects e.g. roads, signs, landmarks.
- How high the graffiti is off the ground.
- The size of the affected area.
- Any access issues.
Using the Snap, Send, Solve also enables reported graffiti, not on Council managed assets to be directed to the relevant Authority:
- VicRoads - graffiti on major roads, traffic lights, signal boxes and road signs
- Public Transport Victoria - graffiti on train stations, trains, buses and bus stops
- Optus or Telstra - graffiti is on public telephones, telephone exchanges
- Ausnet or United Energy - graffiti on power poles, light poles and electricity sub-stations

If you see graffiti in progress, you can report it to Victoria Police by calling Triple Zero (000).
Authorising graffiti removal from private property
Council requires access authorisation before entering private property to remove graffiti. The online form can be completed after the initial report has been made and a Notice of Intention to Remove/Obliterate Graffiti has been issued.
