Sustainable education and resources

Education

ResourceSmart Schools

ResourceSmart Schools is a  free program offered by Sustainability Victoria that supports Victorian schools to embed sustainability across the school facilities, community and curriculum, while saving resources and money for the school.

Schools join the program, then have access to an online portal (ResourceSmart Schools online), where they learn and practice ways to integrate sustainability. The ResourceSmart Schools program has 5 modules- Core, Energy, Water, Biodiversity and Waste.

'i sea, i care' ambassador program

The Dolphin Research Institute (DRI) ‘i sea, i care’ ambassador program is designed for students in Years 5 and 6. Four students from each school are chosen to be Ambassadors for the year. They will learn about our bays and waterways, and the many issues facing them. Through four peer-teaching workshops, the Ambassadors develop the skills and self-confidence to pass their knowledge on to their peers and wider school community.

Terracycle

Schools and kindergartens can become collection points for items that are usually not recyclable or are hard to recycle. A range of free collections are available, and some will reward sites for their efforts. To learn more, visit Terracycle.

Planet Ark

Planet Ark offers a range of programs and resources, including printer cartridge recycling, Schools Tree Day and National Recycling Week.
