Activities
Farm show presentation
- Be introduced to some special farm animals in a fun and exciting animal show.
- Pat the feathers of the friendly farm chickens and learn where chicks come from.
- Watch a goat milking session and have a go at milking!
Animal nursery
- Meet and pat the small and baby animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, lambs, goat kids and reptiles.
- Learn appropriate behaviour around animals.
Paddock Feed Trail
- Walk the feed trail to hand feed animals such as alpacas, sheep, deer, goats and kangaroos.
- Train ride to the wetlands with the option for a walk and talk along the boardwalk.
- View the Grey-headed flying fox colony and a variety of native wildlife in the area.
Pony rides (Optional)
- Go for a short ride on the Myuna Farm ponies assisted by our friendly staff.
Duration
Each session runs for 30 minutes, except the farm show which runs for 40 minutes.
Group arrival is at 10:00 am with the chance for morning tea before activities commence at 10:20 am.
The program finishes at 1:00 pm, which includes a half hour lunch break. Please note that programs will finish at 1:30 if pony rides are included. There is the option to finish before lunch break at 12.30 pm (must be advised in advance).
Cost
- Hands on Farming 4 units: $13.20
- Hands on Farming 4 units + Pony Rides: $17.00
- Adults are free (when there is one adult for every five students). Extra adults: $11.80 each
Prices include GST.
Groups must be at least 18 students. If less than 18 students attend, you must still pay for all 18 students.
Maximum group size
For the Hands on Farming program, we can accommodate a maximum of 4 groups on a given day with up to 30 children per group.
