Our kindergartens

The City of Casey manages 49 local Kindergartens with over 300 qualified educators. We have a proud history, spanning more than 30 years, of providing quality programs that meet and exceed the National Quality Standard.

Our kindergartens offer individual programs unique to their local environment and community, and draw upon evidence-based practice and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.

City of Casey kindergarten programs are all fully government funded.

Kindergarten programs include:

  • Indoor and outdoor simultaneous play
  • Small group activities
  • Individual play areas
  • Teacher-led whole group activities
  • Flexible mealtimes
  • Programs structured for children of all abilities and developmental needs
  • School Readiness Funding
  • Indigenous perspectives
  • Child Body-Safety program as part of Council’s commitment to child safety.

We encourage you to visit your local kindergarten to find out more about the programs they can offer.

Why kindergarten is important

Research shows that young children learn best through play and attending kindergarten helps them develop skills that are the foundation for all future learning. At kindergarten your child will learn important social, numeracy, literacy, communication and physical skills as well as developing their overall health, wellbeing and independence.
