Become an Environmental Volunteer in Casey

We’re looking for passionate community members to join our Environmental Volunteer Program and help care for some of Casey’s most beautiful reserves.

Whether you're a seasoned nature lover or just starting out, this is a great opportunity to connect with others, learn new skills, and make a real difference in your local environment.

For more information on the different groups, please refer to the details below or email enviroeducation@casey.vic.gov.au for further information.

New volunteer opportunities

We're excited to be adding 10 new reserves to the Environmental Volunteering program. Each site offers unique experiences—from planting and weeding to wildlife monitoring and litter collection.

To get involved, please complete the expression of interest form.

Join an existing Friends Group

Already formed and active in the community, our Friends Groups are a great way to get involved with ongoing conservation efforts. These groups work closely with Council to protect and enhance our natural spaces.

If you're interested in joining a group or starting one in your area, we’d love to hear from you!

Friends of Warneet (Warneet)

Warneet friends focus their work on the Warneet nature reserve on Warneet road. The group was started thirteen years ago and have removed a large amount of sallow wattle and blue bell creeper following a prescribed burn.

As result of weed removal, there has been a liberation of a number of indigenous species in the heathy woodland species. There is no need to do any Revegetation due to the large amount of natural regeneration.

They undertake rubbish removal especially along Rutherford inlet and a number of members work in the Biodiversity management field so love sharing their knowledge to the wider community.

The group meets once a month - first Sunday of the month but not during summer due to heat and snakes.
