What are independently managed kindergartens?

Some sessional kindergartens located in the City of Casey are run by external providers, not the Council. These providers look after the daily running of the kindergarten and may be:

• early years managers
• independent organisations
• committees of management.

What is the City of Casey’s role?

The City of Casey manages the Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme (CRES), including:

• processing expression of interest and registrations
• offering funded sessional kindergarten places
• sharing your child’s details with the external provider after you accept a place.

What happens after you accept a place?

• Your information goes to the external provider.
• The external provider will contact you with the next steps.

After this, you will receive updates directly from the provider, not the City of Casey.

Contacting the external provider

Families must contact the external provider for information about:

• timetables and session times
• kindergarten tours
• enrolment and orientation sessions
• support for your child starting kindergarten.
