The Legal Point of Discharge (LPOD) is where stormwater runs off your roof and property into council-managed drains.
Before applying for a building permit, you may need an LPOD Report outlining where stormwater discharge from a property must be located and the details (size, depth and offset) of the Council drains within the property boundary.
Before starting work, we recommend contacting Before You Dig Australia for a free pre-excavation referral service.
LPOD application
- There is a non-refundable application fee of $231.40 per report.
- You must apply for an additional report detailing council drains on adjacent property or the road reserve.
- The report does not show details of downpipes and associated internal stormwater drainage on the property. You should contact a plumber for this information.
- Details of council drains are a guide only and may not show as-constructed conditions.
The quickest way to get an LPOD report is online. You should receive it within 10 working days.
