Heritage at Casey

The City of Casey has a rich heritage dating back tens of thousands of years and a wealth of native fauna and flora. Casey’s heritage places include a range of historic buildings, natural heritage, geoheritage and archaeological artefacts. Each place and artefact tells the story of Casey’s past and its conservation enriches our present and future.

Over 180 places in Casey are controlled under heritage legislation (Casey’s Heritage Overlay). Of these, three are precincts and three are included in the State heritage register.

Despite development pressures faced as one of the fastest growing municipalities within Victoria, the City of Casey is committed to the conservation and enhancement of its heritage places as an investment in Casey’s character and appeal. The City of Casey respects its heritage places which provide a sense of continuity in times of change.
