Dispute your fine in court

If you cannot resolve a disputed fine with Council, you can pursue having the matter reviewed at the Magistrate's Court.

Risks of choosing a court hearing

  • Court hearings can be expensive and time-consuming.
  • Higher financial penalties than those issued by Council may be issued.
  • Depending on the offence, a criminal conviction may be incurred if unsuccessful.

If you wish to dispute your fine at Court, you must express your intent in writing.
