Council elections will take place on Saturday, 26 October. We will be entering the pre-election period, known as the Caretaker Period, from Tuesday, 17 September.

Roads that Council looks after

The responsibility of managing and maintaining roads within the City of Casey is shared between Council and The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).

What Council looks after

We maintain over 1,800 km of local and unsealed roads within the City of Casey. Items we are responsible for include:

  • general road maintenance
  • keeping roads clean
  • road signs
  • line markings
  • footpaths
  • pedestrian crossings

What the DTP looks after

The DTP is responsible for maintaining major roads (View map of DTP managed roads ) and all traffic lights in the state.
