Delivered Meals

About the service  

The Commonwealth Government provides funding to Council under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) to deliver meals to eligible Casey residents in their homes who are at risk or have difficulty preparing their own meals.   

Information about the Meals  

  • Standard frozen meals from Lite n’ Easy, can be stored in freezer for up to 12 months.
  • Two and three Course menu options are available consisting of
  • Main meal
  • Soup and/or dessert
  • Meals can be heated in the microwave or oven.
  • Frozen meal options for Gluten Free, Allergen Free, Texture Modified, Halal and First Nations meals are available through our secondary supplier (Monash Health) 
  • Two Course Meals only, consisting of Main Meal and a fruit cup dessert
  • Menu selections are made on an annual basis. 
  • Menu order forms are available via email or a hard copy can be sent with the first delivery which is based off our stock availability. 
  • The menu includes a comprehensive list of ingredients for you to consider allergies/dietary requirements. 

Deliveries

A team of friendly volunteers will deliver your meals to your door on the following days: 

  • Retirement Villages/Coastal area’s (Blind Bight/Tooradin/Warneet/Cannons Creek) deliveries will be on a Thursday
  • All other clients have the option for one or two deliveries on Mondays & Thursdays
  • Meals are not delivered on weekends or public holidays but will be delivered in advance. 
  • You must be home to receive your meals. Unfortunately, meals are not able to be left in eskies at the front door or with neighbours.  

Eligibility  

  • To be eligible for the service, you must: 
  • Have completed an Aged Care Assessment through My Aged Care 
  • Have a referral code from My Aged Care 
  • Reside within the City of Casey 

  How to access this service  

  • You can access this service by contacting My Aged Care. 
  • Call them on 1800 200 422 and they will assess your eligibility over the phone and/or organise an in-home assessment. They can help you to understand what services may be available to you and assist you if you are accessing services for the first time

  • Translation and Interpreter Services are available by calling 131 450 (TIS National). Ask TIS to telephone City of Casey Community Services Team on (03) 9705 5444.

Fees  

Fees for delivered meals for the 2024-2025  financial year are below. No payment is needed on the day of service – we send you an account every 4 weeks.

Pay for Commonwealth Home Support services

If you are eligible for any of our Commonwealth Home Support Services (CHSP) we will calculate your fees based on your current financial situation by using a sliding scale. 

No eligible client will be denied access to services because of their financial situation or ability to pay.

You can pay your invoices online with a Visa or Mastercard.

Please make sure you have your Debtor Number ready.

Pay in person

You can pay in person by visiting one of our customer service centres.

Pay via Centrepay

Centrepay is a free service that enables you to set up regular fortnightly deductions from your Centrelink payment (aged pension, Newstart allowance, etc.) to pay your Community Care bills.

Pay at Australia Post

You can take your bill to your local Australia Post office for payment.

Pay in using Bpay

You can pay your bill by using the BPay Biller Code and Reference Number that appears on the bottom right of your invoice.
